Does that include my husband? Seriously, Matthew just turned 4. Josh will be 2 in June.

3. What area do you live in and why?
Ballwin because we really liked the area and the school district. We really liked the house... it has a big fenced backyard that the kids can play in.

4. Tell us about your husband or significant other
John will soon be 37. We met when he was working at the student-run tv station in Columbia, MO. I just happened to be a student. We got married in 1999 and had our first son almost four years later. Since our second son was born, he decided to stay home part-time. I really admire him for having the guts to do it and now succeed at it!

5. Do you have any hobbies?
Writing. I love to write creative stories, but I don't have much time to do it. Instead, I try to make time for a more realistic hobby - reading.

6. What do you do? Work outside the home, work at home or stay at home mom?
I work outside the home at a local TV station. I probably shouldn't say which one. My boss is kind of picky about us talking about it too much. I work early in the mornings (I'm in by 4am) and try to get home by nap time, but it doesn't happen too much.

I'm also working at home with my husband on a new parents website called peatot.com. Some of you might have heard about it.

My husband met some of your members at the preschool our boys attend.

No. I grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana and first lived in Missouri when I attended college at Mizzou.

9. If you had one full day to do whatever you wanted, what would you do?
I waited to answer this one last because I haven't honestly thought about it in so long. I would probably go shopping because I never get to do that for long periods of time. I'd also make time for a trip to the spa... to either get a message, brow wax or something. I always feel rushed when I go to try to do either of those things.

10. How often do you get online?
At work, I get online every day... but I don't have time to chat much. So I probably do that stuff about once a week while working on peatot.com.

11. Whats your favorite Restaurant?
McCalister's Deli is right around the corner from our house... I love the sandwiches, salads, potatoes and sweet tea.

12. If you could send your child(ren) to any school in STL, which one would it be and why?
Not sure... I'm a big fan of public schools just because I think children should be exposed to all kinds of people. So, I guess the neighborhood school would be my choice.

13. Favorite family spot and why?
Probably the zoo. We can always find free parking and we love all the animals. The train store in Valley Park is probably a close number two. Both the boys love going there.

We are in Omaha but moving to O'fallon or St. Peters, with gas climbing we want to be near dh's work. Plus we were in St. Peter before and like the area.

I'd have to say longhorn, I know Omaha is supposed to be known for their steaks but I haven't had one here as good as longhorn.

If houses weren't so darn high I'd send them to parkway or rockwood because that is where dh and I went.

Isaiah, born June 6, 2005: He's an only child (for right now) and loves to play in water, eat M&M's, drink chocolate milk, sing songs/listen to music, and playing with animals. He's 100% boy through and through. Recently we said bye, bye to the binky, and are beginning the small steps towards potty training. That's something I'm still trying to figure out how to best accomplish. Isaiah is very smart (sometimes too smart for his own good), and definitatly a sweetheart and flirt.

3. What area do you live in and why?
We recently moved to St. Louis County because I'm working at Vi-Jon Laboratories. I'm basically a project manager, and Vi-Jon is best known as being the makers of Germ-X Hand Sanitizer, Swish mouthwash, and private label health & beauty products. Right now we are living in Pavillion Apartments at the corner of Bennington Place and Marine. We come from a small town south of St. Louis called De Soto where we lived for about 9 months while I got money together, and before that we lived in Springfield, MO while I finished school at Missouri State University. I plan to stay in St. Louis for a while, because I do enjoy my job and the city. Eventually I want to move to a house, but money has to be saved first.

4. Tell us about your husband or significant other
Right now I'm living with my boyfriend of over a year Kyle. He's a software engineer at RGA out of Chesterfield. Isaiah adores Kyle, and Kyle treats Isaiah like his own although he's not (on a technical basis). Kyle and I talk of marriage one day, but nothing is set in stone. He's a triathlete and very, very athletic. I love him to death!

5. Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy crafts and cooking as well as the typical girly things of shopping, pedicures, manicures, ect. I'm currently working on my Masters of Arts in Public Relations at Webster University here in St. Louis. I do enjoy reading, but don't always get the chance to do so as often as I'd like.

6. What do you do? Work outside the home, work at home or stay at home mom?
As I said earlier, I work at Vi-Jon Laboratories and hold the title of Contract Packaging Planner. Bascially I'm both a project manager and liason for Vi-Jon with our outside accounts that fill some of our products for us. I manage about 5 accounts right now with one of those being the largest we have, and will soon be taking on our international China account which I'm very excited about. Ultimately I would like to get into event planning/management or public relations.

7. How did you hear about our board?
I had found the e-mail address of another play group/mommy's club and had e-mailed them. I received a response from Whymommy telling me she had merged her group with this one and to come here.

8. Are you originally from Missouri?
Yes, I am. I was born in St. Louis and lived in De Soto, MO my whole life.

9. If you had one full day to do whatever you wanted, what would you do?
I would spend the day taking care of me. I'd go shopping, go to a spa and have the full works done of massage, pedicure, manicure, facial, everything. I spend so much time taking care of my son, job, and home that I don't really get to do everything that I want. Not to mention that the money isn't always there to do everything that I want; other things have to take priority.

10. How often do you get online?
I'm on-line daily at work, and don't get on too often on the weekends just because it's my time and I spend 40+ hours Monday through Friday on-line.

11. Whats your favorite Restaurant?
I don't know that I have an absolute favorite restaurant just because I like to try new things all the time. I really like Indian and Mexican cuisine though.

12. If you could send your child(ren) to any school in STL, which one would it be and why?
I'm not really sure of that yet just because Isaiah is only 2, and I'm not sure were we'll be by the time he starts school. Currently he goes to Strictly Pediatrics in Maryland Heights which is a daycare set up very much like a school. We both love it there!

13. Favorite family spot and why?
We probably have 2: the first being lake of the ozarks. My family owns a condo there and it's a great weekend getaway to spend time with family and get out of the city. We go boating, swimming, and fishing. The second would be the zoo. The animals are so much fun, and it's a great way to be outside, spend time together, and for Isaiah to experience all the different animals. Plus although you may see the same animals they aren't always doing the same thing.

2. Tell us about your child(ren) - One son named Isaiah. He is almost two; his birthday is June 6. He is 100% boy through and through. He loves to play outside and get dirty. As well as he loves to swim/play in water, to play with animals, and his toys. Isaiah loves to sing and dance; so, there's music going fairly regularly around our house.

3. What area do you live in and why? - Currently we live in Maryland Heights, MO near the Page Extension in apartments. We recently moved to St.Louis county back in March from a rural town 1 hour south of St. Louis. I work in St. Louis, and the commute from where we used to live was ridiculous as well as depriving me of my time with Isaiah.

4. Tell us about your husband or significant other - I live me my long term boyfriend, Kyle. He currently works at RGA in Chesterfield as a systems anaylist. Kyle also does some freelance photography and computer animation work. He is a very talented and serious athlete, and competes in triathlons, which the season has just begun. Isaiah and I love him to death, and he and I plan to marry some day.

5. Do you have any hobbies? - I enjoy doing crafts such as sewing, scrapbooking, and cooking (especially because Kyle and Isaiah are not picky eaters). I find shopping very relaxing for me even at the Christmas season. When I've had a hard day I like just walking through the malls looking at everything; I don't even buy things! I do like to read, but unfortunately I am a fairly busy person between keeping house, working, taking care of family, and going to my graduate classes that I don't have a ton of time to really enjoy my hobbies.

6. What do you do? Work outside the home, work at home or stay at home mom? - I work outside the home at Vi-Jon Laboratories as a contract packaging planner. Basically, I am an account/project manager. Ultimately I would like to hold a career as an event planner which I what I'm getting my master's degree for, or believe it or not I would want to be a stay at home mom at least while Isaiah and any future kids are little.

7. How did you hear about our board?- Whymommy referred me to the sight after I contacted her about wanting join a playgroup in St.Louis.

8. Are you originally from Missouri? - I am a born and raised Missourian, but have not lived in St. Louis the whole time. Instead I lived in De Soto which isn't far from St. Louis. I attended college at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO for 4 years, and spent one summer living and working at Lake of the Ozarks (one of the best summers ever!).

9. If you had one full day to do whatever you wanted, what would you do? - I would pamper myself first: I would get at least a pedicure and work out and just relax, probably go shopping if money wasn't a restriction. I would not want to do one ounce of work that's for sure!

10. How often do you get online? - Every day for the most part. Weekends are not as often as we often take the weekends to spend time together.

11. Whats your favorite Restaurant? - No one specific restaurant, but I really enjoy Mexican and Indian cuisine.

12. If you could send your child(ren) to any school in STL, which one would it be and why? - I honestly haven't investigated the schools in St. Louis too much just because I'm not in the area/district that I will be in forever, and Isaiah isn't really close to school age yet. By the time he is who knows where we'll be living if it's even in this state! Currently he does attend Strictly Pediatrics which is a daycare, but set up like a school. He and I both love it there, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Favorite family spot and why? - Lake of the Ozarks because we spend time with all of our family there (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, ect); plus it's so relaxing with fishing, boating, swimming. It's very inexpensive trip for us and a great weekend getaway. Also, the zoo is a favorite spot. The animals are so much fun to go and look at/play with.

The main reason I wanted to join a mommy group or play group was because I'm kind of new to the St.Louis area in that I don't know a whole lot of people here. Those I do know are best friends from college, and they have no kids so often times they don't go out and do things that I can take Isaiah to. Also, Kyle is very busy; so, many times it's just me and Isaiah in the evenings. I love my son to death, and want to spend all the time I can with him, but sometimes a need to have adult conversion and do activities with people who can relate. I also want Isaiah to meet people and have a social life as well outside of daycare.

We are easy to get along with and very active people who like to have fun, laugh, and smile.

I live in U City, and I enjoy the diversity and open-mindedness of most of of the neighbors, as well as the convenience.

I love to scuba dive, especially in tropical destinations. I've been all over the world to scuba dive. It also helps satisfy my need to travel. I'm also a heavy-duty novel reader with a penchant for science fiction, children's fantasy, and lengthy sagas.

I work at a large company as a decision analyst, which means I determine the value of long-term projects. I was also a scientist for many years.

I grew up here most of my childhood and have spent most of my adult life here. I was born inthe Pacific Northwest and moved here as a child. I went to school and worked in New England.

Scuba dive a little, hang out on the beach with my daughter and husband, swim in a pool and watch the sun set.

Hmm. I haven't visited any schools yet but, for preschool, am considering visiting a couple of Montessoris, Waldorf, and New City School.

The front porch swing. We can have some fresh air, eat drippy frozen treats, see and hear all sorts of things, and can talk to the neighbors as they go by.

I have one biological son he is 13 months old and a true joy to be around. I also have 2 stepchildren a 7 year old stepson and a 10 year old stepdaugther. They can be a lot of fun to be around and I love watching them with Gavin they are both so proud to be a big brother and sister.

I live in Maryland Heights. I live there because they had the quick proximity work which allows me to spend less time driving and more time with my little dude.

My S.O. is a man I mean really stereotypical guy. He "forgets" to put the seat down; he can't cook and yada yada. BUT he's a wonderful and dedicated and active father. He's really a wonderful dad who genuinely loves his kids and never tries to take the easy route with them but always is involved and works.

I was doing some research in private schools in STL for my kids --- I plan on sending them to a private school for HS, and I found that Whitfield was the best one. Now affording that, that's another story -- but hopefully we will be able to. Otherwise, I'd probably send them to Pattonville and it's not that bad of a consolation.

Elk's Park in St Louis we love going to Youngs and then here to watch the animals in the woods, but really most of my favorite family spots are in TN.

I don’t know much about schools. But I found out about Rohan Woods elementary/middle. It’s a phenomenal private school with outstanding educational and character building programs. But it’s also like $14K per year.

Any place Sully can play in water. He’s obsessed with filling up cups and pouring them out. We just went to the jazz fest at Botanical Gardens, and we couldn’t keep him out of the water play areas. I totally recommend it to anyone who’s still reading this. They are doing 9 more this season, and they are all free. It was awesome.

2. Tell us about your child(ren): I have three kids - my son is 14 (yes, I'll take any and all prayers you can send. You'll need them too when your kids are teens!) and he is from my previous marriage to not-so DH throw up sick . I remarried 8 years ago to a great guy who puts up with my shenanigans, and so we have two daughters together, one is 3 1/2 going on 15, and the other is 19 months. Matt is my oldest, Kate is my middle, and Grace (a.k.a. Lulubelle) is my youngest. A little about my bambinos: Matt is our resident athlete. Baseball is his first love, but if he had his way he'd play football too. But, mom and stepdad say no, so there ya have it. He plays competitively and plans to play in high school as well. Even as we speak now, he is in Kansas City with the stepdad at the state tournament. He's all about the sports and not about the school work, so, yep, that's my Mattman. Kate. She's our resident princess / diva. She'll be four in July, but she insists on having her toes painted, wears dresses, steals Mom's MAC Lipglass on a continuous basis, loves dancing and wants to do poms when she gets older. She loves anything and everything Disney Princess, but Cinderella? Her favorite activity is to have me, a.k.a "The Wicked Stepmother", dole out orders to "Cinderella" a.k.a. Kate, and tell her to scrub the floor, get my tea, etc. We act out scenes from Cinderella. Someone please tell me if there is a casting call for Cinderella - I've got this wicked stepmother business down to a science, and Kate does a darn good Cinderella for 3! Then there is Grace (or Gracie, or better yet Lulubelle) The story behind the name Lulubelle will come at a later date shall I be accepted. (Suspense is brutal, isn't it?) Anyhoo - she's 19 months old, and just a bundle of joy. Always has a smile plastered on her face, and she loves, LOVES Elmo. She's really starting to stand her ground when it comes to play time and what's hers. She's a biter and a growler. Makes for interesting background noises when mom's on an important call, BUT, she is a true bundle of joy and just cute as a button. She's fun. And one tough cookie I might add.

3. What area do you live in and why? I live in Wildwood, about 3 miles away from Six Flags. (Pretty much the Franklin County border and Eureka - that whole little area.) I live here because I moved in with my mom while she was battling cancer and going through some tough times with that. When she passed away, she left her house to me. My now DH lived across the street, so hey, we hooked up shortly after the divorce went through and that's history. I do love it out here because we have some land, and I love that feature. I also love that we are in a fantastic school district. (Rockwood) One downfall is the lack of kids and the lack of being able to get to know your neighbors. I suffer from lack of adult interaction in a major way, and you literally can't walk anywhere to here. (No parks w/in walking distance, etc.)

4. Tell us about your husband or significant other: My husband rocks. (He's on the good list today for going to Kansas City for the baseball tournament you read about above.) He works in the aviation industry at Spirit Airport. He's also an aviation fantatic and has his own little plane. (Anyone wanna buy it? yahoooo ) But he's a great guy - a fantastic husband, a true kid at heart, and just fun and warped. He's also extra awesome because he puts up with me. yahoooo

5. Do you have any hobbies? Where's the nearest mall and I'll show you a hobby! I love shopping, but have to totally keep the expenses in check. (Easier said than done - I'm a SAHM.) When not drooling over the cutest new purse or shoes or clothing available, I'll have my nose in a book, (Jodi Picoult, Mary Higgins Clark, Elaine Viets - all some of my faves) or will make a pathetic attempt at scrapbooking. During baseball season I cheer my son and his team on at games, yet this is proving to be quite difficult with a 19 month old who likes to establish her independence in any way, shape or form. crikey

I'm a chauffeur, babysitter, cook/chef, housekeeper, maid, nanny, personal shopper, psychiatrist / psychologist, nurse, accountant, um, oh hey, there is a job title for all of that - A MOM. I stay home with the kids though, and I think that's where you were going with that question. I count my blessings I'm able to do so everyday, but it's hard at times because you can only watch so much freakin' Barney or Caillou. cry2

Lord knows we've made it through elementary and middle school, I'll let you know about the high school experience after we get some of that time under our belts in the fall with Matt.

Get up early, go for a walk or jog, come home and have a big breakfast and take a nap. Get up again just before noon, pack a picnic and go for a hike or boat ride or to the pool. Then go for dinner or bring home pizza and a movie, and relax.

2. Tell us about your child(ren)
I have an almost 2 year old daughter Ellie. She is my crazy little redhead, a very busy little monster. Most of my day is spent chasing after her, which she finds extremely funny (she just [U]has[/U] to test me). She loves music & dancing- if there is a beat she is moving with it. I love to hear her laugh and we love to visit parks and be outside playing. I also have two "stepchildren" (it's easier than saying my significant others children) Maxine who is 8 and Joshua who is 9. We have them every other weekend during the school year and almost everyday during the summer. They are both great children & I love them like they were my own. Maxine has a very laid back personality, the world could be coming to an end and she would be like "oh, its all gonna be alright", she's such a positive kid- its very inspiring. Josh is just the opposite of his sister, very sensitive, he over analyzes everything, but is very funny and outgoing.

3. What area do you live in and why?
We live on "The Hill" in southcity. I grew up in the area & ended up moving back at 18. I love city life, I love that we have such a strong community & great neighbors.

Jim has been my significant other (boyfriend if we must) for 5 years now. We met at work & hit it off immediately. We are complete opposites for the most part, but somehow it works out.

Running- I have just started up again after almost 2 years of being lazy & am training for the Lewis & Clark 1/2 marathon. I also like to read, but don't get much time these days. If going out to lunch is a hobby then we can count that too.

I'm up in arms about this one b/c Ellie has not started school yet. Living in the city it will probably be a private school, but we have just started thinking about preschools (waiting list for some!). But more than anything I think parental involvement is ultimately what makes a child succeed, not the school.
